Happy Halloween!!!

As promised....Hannah was a ladybug for Halloween! We did a quick trip around our block to see a few friends, and then we were off to party with Leah, James and Charlie and a few other friends.

Charlie was a pirate, and they had his wagon all decked out like a pirate ship. He let Hannah ride along for the trick-or-treating.

She didn't actually eat any candy...maybe next year!

Mommy was a ladybug too.

Daddy was a party pooper and did not dress up. He says Halloween is for kids!! HUH?

San Marcos Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin patch #2 of the year was with our playgroup. We went to a place out in San Marcos. The kids were supposed to wear their costumes and do trick or treating, but I thought it was WAY to hot to put Hannah in her ladybug costume. So she was a SF Giants girl (for her Grandpa!)

Born to Shop

What is our favorite store? TARGET!!! Brand name baby clothes at great prices. As you can see, Hannah is turning into quite the shopper, taking after her MAMA. Aunt Emily would be proud also!

Vaccuming Cheerios

My mom and I caught Hannah over at the dog dish eating Sherlock's food the other day~yuck!!! We kept redirecting her, but everytime after a few minutes, she would always end up heading back toward the food. So I put some cheerios in a dish on the floor and...viola! Problem solved! Except, she prefers to dump them on the floor and then eat them directly with her mouth, without using her hands!! ????? Crazy baby.

Backpacking in the San Jacinto Mountains

Randy here. Thursday night I did a solo trip to the San Jacinto wilderness. Evening falling on the San Jacinto mountains along the Wellman divide looking into Little Tahquitz Valley.

Upon witnessing sunrise on San Jacinto peak a century ago, John Muir exclaimed, “The view from San Jacinto is the most sublime spectacle to be found anywhere on this earth!”
I don't know about that but. . . .

My lonely little camp site. There was not another soul in sight. Sleeping that night was totally quiet and the sky was clear and full of stars.

One more look at Little Tahquitz Valley.

My new tent served well as a solo tent. With the ground cloth, the tent weighs only 3 lbs 11 oz. It is spacious for one and appears sturdy.
The sleeping bag is also new and weighs 1 lb 7 oz. In total with 3 meals and 100 oz of water, my pack weighed a mere 23 lbs-a far cry better than the last time I did an overnighter carrying a pack that must have weighed 50 lbs!

Lodi Pumpkin Patch

My mom and I took Hannah to the pumpkin patch up the road this morning. Of course, the main purpose was to get some cute pictures! We did get a few, but Hannah was NOT in the best of moods, for whatever reason. We thought she was tired, but when we got home, she was right back to her jolly self. Maybe the witches and goblins scared her!! Lodi is the ideal place for a pumpkin patch! It was right next to a corn field, and the corn looked almost ripe. There's nothing like central valley produce :) Click here for more pictures.

Ridgeback

We are up at my mom's house in Lodi again for the week. Grandma likes to style Hannah's hair in something she calls a "ridgeback" which is basically something like a baby mohawk. My dad and I think she is CRAZY. Hannah doesn't seem too stoked about it either! HAHA

Fall Festival

This weekend we went to the fall festival at my sister Karyn's school. Hannah got to go on the slide with Dad, do the pumpkin walk with aunt Karyn, and even met a bunch of Karyn's students. Karyn gave us a little tour of her classroom afterward, and Hannah practiced sitting at a dest like a big girl! Click here for the rest of the pictures.

Kira's Baby Shower

Saturday was Kira's baby shower at John's parents' house in Scripps Ranch. Her mother in law Maggie threw an awesome party! We had a good time eating and watching them open all their gifts, which were WAY too many to take with them when they fly back to Oregon! I think John's parents will be making a trip up soon to take them all their loot. Randy and I especially enjoyed the cupcakes, all the way from Sprinkles in Beverly Hills :)

Hannah made a new friend, Kira's little second cousin Abbey.

Babys R Us

Friday I went to Baby's R Us with my friend Azul, who is expecting a new addition in February '09. She is not finding out the gender of the baby until the big day, which made things a bit more challenging as far as registering for baby gear. But we did it! Lucky for her, I have been to Babys R Us so many times over the last year that know it like the back of my hand, so we managed to knock the whole thing out in ONLY 3 hours! LOL I had flashbacks to the time when Randy and I went there for the first time, and after about 45 minutes of walking around in a DAZE with the scan gun, we left without putting ANYTHING on our list. Luckily my friend Dana went back with me the next week and showed me the ropes, and I was SO thankful for her. I was glad to be able to return the favor to Azul, and we had a lot of fun :)!!

Halloween Preview

Our BUG is going to be a BUG for Halloween! A girl in my playgroup loaned us this really cute ladybug costume, (Thanks Christin and Izzy!) so we had to try it on to make sure it fit. I think it works for her!
