Christmas Tree Decorating

Hannah "helped" mommy decorate the tree today...she basically took one ornament off for every two I put on. We finally got it done...I decorated the bottom half of the tree with unbreakable type ornaments, so hopefully it will not become a major issue. Notice our beautiful tree, which we purchased at the local Costco, fresh grown at the plastic factory. Yes, folks, we've gone artificial this year...figured its better than Hannah eating a ton of pine needles.

After we were done we got some video of Hannah 'dancing' with Daddy.

Thanksgiving 2008

We had a great Thanksgiving at Randy's folks house,
with 26 of the Burkholz clan in total.
Hannah enjoyed playing with her cousins and getting to know them better. She got to spend lots of time with Grandma B this week, and Grandma discovered just how BUSY Hannah is :)

Sleepover at Aunt Teri's House

Wednesday night Hannah slept over with her aunt Teri and Manny and her cousins Mequette and Jazmin. She had a good time playing with their old barbies and their old toy cash register! And promptly got into their fireplace to eat rocks, just as she does at home. Mom and Dad were missing her by the evening, so we stopped in to have dinner and play for a little while. It is so nice to have family around!!

Snowbird

Monday we flew to Salt Lake to spend Thanksgiving week with Randy's family. We are staying up at the Iron Blosam at Snowbird courtesy of Teri's timeshare deal. Hannah is staying down in the valley with Grandma! Yeah for us! We decided to hit the slopes Tuesday afternoon. It is pretty early season snowpack but the conditions were decent for a half day of groomers. Better than sitting in the lodge, we thought!

MILESTONE

Hannah FINALLY learned how to hold her own bottle!!! I suspect she has been able to do it for awhile now but she always plays dumb and makes us do it for her. We finally got her to do it herself on a semi regular basis. Randy took these pics of her sitting on our new sectional sofa which arrived last week. A lovely color of chocolate brown... pretty much the only option we had with Rio around (he has resumed his normal spot, see far left in the last picture)! LOL

Oceanside SDA Church

We took Hannah to Sabbath School at the Oceanside SDA church the weekend my mom was here....the theme for SS was the safari in the jungle. They gave the kids all sorts of little props to play with. Hannah had fun running around the room with the other kids. The craft was kind of a bust, since we were gluing cotton balls on paper to make sheep (Jesus little lambs) and she kept putting the sticky gluey cotton balls in her mouth. Yuck.

Hannahs 10th month Birthday Visit from Grandma

Grandma Joyce came to visit for the weekend on Hannah's 10th month birthday in November. We went out to Thai food in Solana Beach with the sisters and had a good time. Hannah even ate a few pieces of tofu and didn't seem to mind. It was nice to have my mom here for a few days.

Playing in the Park

We have been taking Hannah down to the little park by our house to play around in the grass. She likes to run across the grass and chase Rio. Rio likes to chew up all the pine cones in the area and go hunting for bees. He has been stung twice in the past few months, resulting in a couple hundred dollars worth of vet bills. I finally got smart and now we keep a stash of prednisone and benadryl on hand for doggie emergencies :)

Election Day

Randy and I got out and rocked the vote! HAHA We didn't have to wait in any lines, since our polling place was in our neighbor's garage. We were actually surprised at how short the ballot was. Well, in the end our candidate didn't win, but we are both OK with President Obama, as long as someone talks him out of his insane tax plan. LOL Keep your fingers crossed, fellow self employed people of America, or we all might be moving to Canada for a tax break in the near future.

Sunset at the beach

Hannah and Daddy went down to the beach to watch the sunset. . .

We went to the Carlsbad Campground where the camp sites are right on the beach

The picture below shows where the camp sites are situated on top of the bluff

Many of the sites are empty now since school is back in

Carlsbad in November

I snapped a few pics on my bike ride down to the coast today, just so everyone can see how GREAT it is in Carlsbad. We are so lucky to live in what WE think is one of the best places in the country. It was really beautiful, and still not too cold, as you can see by the throngs of surfers that were out today.
