Fun with Forts Playdate

We hosted our first playdate on Wednesday for our playgroup. We are official members of the Carlsbad Mommies and Munchkins! Hannah and all her little friends had fun running around the house and we put up some blankets over the furniture to build some little "forts" for them to crawl around in.

One Year Checkup

Hannah had her one year checkup this week. She weighed 19 lbs 5 oz, 29 1/2 inches tall, almost triple her birth weight and 10 inches longer than birth height. Amazing! She got a clean bill of health, minus a small amount of foot fungus (which she obviously got from DAD, haha!!) Poor baby had to have SIX shots, 3 in each arm and THEN she had to get blood drawn. Boy, was she MISERABLE!! :( We came right home and she took a 3 hour nap after her appointment! Next visit- 15 months. She is switching from formula to whole milk (well, we are trying but she has yucked it the first few times.) She is right on track developmentally, as far as we can tell, and well above average for physical coordination, obviously!

January Birthdays Playdate

Our playgroup has a day every month where we celebrate the birthdays of the kids for the month. This time it was Hannah's turn! Ella is Hannah's January birthday buddy, hers is Jan 3rd. Hannah turns ONE!

We had a little joint birthday party for Hannah and my sister Karyn on Sunday (Karyn's is the 17th) while my parents were down from Lodi. My aunt and uncle Janis and Wendel and cousins Mike and Alana and Lisa all came over to help celebrate! Hannah got a lot of presents, once again, and Mommy got to help her open them:) She still wasn't feeling all that great so the cake-on-the-face pics didn't turn out so well. My Poor Sick Baby

Hannah was sick the whole week last week. She had a fever of 103 for two days, including her BIRTHDAY!! Poor BABY was so miserable! Not much great sleep around here for Mom and Dad, either. It was rough but we are on the upswing now, with just a bit of lingering snot:) EWWWW.

Charlie's new Train Table

We went over to visit Charlie and Leah at their new house for a playdate the other day. Charlie got a new train table for Christmas and he taught Hannah how to play trains :) They both got a little bit excited, as you can tell from the video! (click the video to watch)

Paul and Paulette's Visit

Our friends Paul and Paulette Savino were out visiting from Arizona this weekend. We took their dogs and Hannah down to the beach and let them run around on Saturday afternoon. It was low tide and there were lots of kids and dogs running around the beach. Hannah was up to her old sand-eating tricks, as usual, but not as bad as before. My little girl is growing up!

Apple of my Eye

I was in the kitchen the other day and had the refrigerator door open, and Hannah found an apple out of the fruit box and sat down and started to eat it! She MUST be Daddy's girl! She had a whole bunch of tiny little bites taken out of it after working it for 20 minutes or so. It must feel good on her teeth that are coming in right now.

Abierto, Cerrado

Another new fun game...open and close the door. I like to say "abierto, cerrado" like they used to on sesame street, so she is getting a dose of foreign language education :)
