Team Burkholz

We have been blessed with so many great friends. Some of our all time favorites are James and Emily Cameron!! They live in Redlands, CA and have a 20 month old daughter Clarise, born almost exactly a year before Hannah, on 1/26/08.

James and Emily are both such amazing people. Randy and James met during Randy's first year teaching at King Middle school in San Bernardino. James was a lonely single guy back then! LOL
Em came along in 2003 and it was love at first sight, and they were married in 2004. I was one of Emily's bridesmaids, along with her twin sister Betsy. (They are identical but you can totally tell them apart.) Randy was James' groomsman, and James was Randy's. We have shared so many good times with James and Emily, including many BBQ's and swim parties at their house, camping trips, nights out at the Royal Falconer, trips to Idaho (boys drove, girls flew:), Vegas, Hawaii....

Unfortunately, they have been going through hard times recently. In October of last year, Emily was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. She found out several days before the trip we had planned with them to Maui, and they decided to go anyway, as there was nothing they doctors could do for her right away. Since then, she has had to endure some nasty chemotherapy, feeling lousy, and losing her hair, all while doing the hardest job on earth~raising a 1 year old!! Just a few weeks ago she found out the lymphoma is back and had to spend a week being treated at the UCLA medical center. She is back home now, gearing up for her second round of chemo. We pray for her daily and we KNOW she is going to beat this thing!! Emily is a real fighter and she has a lot to live for, including a wonderful loving husband and a beautiful daughter. Not to mention great friends like us! haha
