Hannah and Lilly

We drove up to San Clemente this morning for a playdate with Heidi Haga and her daughter Lilly. Lilly is 10 months old, a month older than Hannah. The two girls got along really well and had fun playing together. They have similar tricks, ie putting EVERYTHING in their mouths, especially anything made of paper. It was cute to see them playing together.

Playdate in the Park

We went to the Calavera Hills park Monday to meet up with the playgroup. Hannah can now run around with all the other little toddlers! Of course, she heade STRAIGHT for the SAND, as usual, and promptly began stuffing sand in her face, so I had to keep distracting her with othe things. It is fun to watch her interact with all the other little kids.

Stacy and Maddie

All the kids and mommies made dirt worms. We are too young for the crafts so we usually skip that part :)

Hannah's 9 month Birthday

Kira and John are in town for Kira's baby shower, and they invited us over Tuesday to John's parents' house in Scripps Ranch for dinner. They know how to cook!! Rib eye steak, salad, bread, veges, and apple pie for dessert. YUM!! Here are a few pictures we took. Of course, everyone was amazed with Hannah's walking skillz!

Looks like Summer, Feels like Fall

Things have cooled off here in Carlsbad significantly in the last few days. It was a balmy 59 degrees in the house when we woke up this morning! Of course Randy, being from SLC, is used to that weather and is enojoying it thouroughly. Heis not too keen on turning on the heater. I, being frugally minded (ie a cheapskate) don't argue this point, so we are dressing in layers around here. Mom, when you come down, don't forget your JACKET! LOL I busted out Hannah's velour jumpsuit that aunt Karla gave her when she was born. It fits perfectly! And I got her some footie pajamas for bed, so now she will be all cozy. These are some pics of us hanging around the house and next door in the little pocket park. She is also getting used to her new pink crocs (actually they are generic crocs from Walmart, remember I'm frugal!) MORE PICS

I've Been Workin' on the Railroad

The latest toy around here is a choo choo train. She can sit on top, or disconnect it and push the engine around like a walker (not that she needs THAT anymore!) I know I always said our baby would play with sticks and rocks BUT....OK maybe Ive succombed a little to modern advertising:) The other day I caught myself walking around Walmart, just ITCHING to find a few fun toy to spend my money on. Pretty sad, I know. I am justifying it to myself because the train also talks and teaches the alphabet and numbers and stuff. OH, and I also got the xyelophone in the background, but that was a MUST since I had the same one when I was a kid. We will hopefully be able to get a lot of use out of these and then we will be sure to pass them on to another friend's baby someday.

SO DARN CUTE

I really don't have much to say in this post except...isn't our baby SO DARN CUTE?? OK maybe we are a little biased, but....you gotta admit, they don't get much cuter than her!

PS The Philly onesie that Kira gave Hannah when she was about 3 months old finally fits her!

Baby's got a New Pair of Shoes

It's getting a little cold in Carlsbad so I decided Hannah needed some shoes for her tootsies! These are a lovely Walmart special :) I'm not about to spend good money for shoes she will outgrow after wearing about 5 times! LOL It didn't take her long to get used to them, and she doesn't seem to mind them.

Kira and John's Visit

Our friends Kira and John were here a few weeks ago and we got to spend the day with them. John and I were in residency together at Loma Linda, and Kira and I got to be pretty good friends during that time. We had great plans to live by each other and raise or families together-until they up and decided to take a job in Eugene, Oregon!!! I think the day I found out they were moving there was one of the saddest days of my life, I cried for hours :( Luckily, their families are in San Diego so they come down to visit pretty often. I am still holding out hope that they will see the light and move here eventually...but until then we have to be happy with seeing them every few months. Hopefully more often, now that baby Tucker is on the way! Kira is due December 1...it's a BOY! Maybe Hannah's first boyfriend? hehe Hannah has promised to show him the ropes of being a baby, and we are looking forward to his arrival. We love you Kira and John!!! click here for more pictures

Baby's Best Friend

Rio has been displaced since Hannah has come along, but he's not bitter. Here's a video of Rio and Hannah. I've been telling her "gentle pat pat for the doggie" and this is what she does.

Sapphire

Sapphire was my doll when I was a little girl, made for me by a friend of ours. Hannah just inherited her, and they have become fast friends. We are starting early teaching our kid the importance being friends with people of all races and colors LOL!
